The EMIT CEO Tour of Duty to Lusaka – Chainama East Correctional Facility. Following a highly impactful EMIT Indaba held in South Africa in March 2026, it was a great honour to host the EMIT CEO, Pastor Kobus, alongside Kyle Vardeman (VP, Development and Strategic Partnerships) and the Country Coordinator, represented locally by Pastor Dr Mervis Malambo, for a tour of duty in Zambia. The visit aimed to provide firsthand insight into the transformative work being led by EMIT-trained leaders. A key highlight was the visit to Chainama East Correctional Hospital in Lusaka. Here, the delegation witnessed remarkable initiatives driven by empowered leaders who are restoring dignity and fostering rehabilitation, skills development, and hope among patients and inmates. A snack was shared with the inmates and patients, and a touching Word was preached by Kyle. This experience clearly demonstrated transformation in action. The visit reaffirmed the power of intentional leadership development and community-driven impact. Even for those of us who have undergone the EMIT programme, it was deeply inspiring to see how the knowledge gained is being translated into meaningful, purpose-driven change that is positively shaping communities. As Scripture reminds us, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16).The EMIT CEO commended the Zambian leadership for their resilience, commitment, and passion, noting that Zambia stands as a strong example of how empowered leaders can transform systems and communities. This tour was more than a visit—it was a time of reflection, encouragement, and renewed commitment to EMIT’s vision of raising leaders who influence systems and transform nations. As we move forward, we remain anchored in God’s promise: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” (Philippians 1:6). Thanks to EMIT for empowering us with the skills and knowledge to transform our communities!
