Nice to meet you...

My name is Chipo Gozho from Shurugwi. I am a Parenting Coach and a Farmer. I am married with 3 children. The challenge that i have observed in my community is that of teenage mothers. Teenage pregnancies became more prevalent during Covid Era. Now we have these young mothers who are depressed as they have no source of income. In most cases, mothers who get help or who are quickly noticed to be suffering from depression, are the older 'properly married' ones. Remember the teen mothers have issues already, that made their families angry: a) they dropped out of school when their parents looked up to them for the betterment of the family b) they were naughty c) they brought embarrassment on the family. Some of them were chased from their homes to live in other people's homes where they are now a burden. They are so traumatized that they do not have good mental health. My goals are to bring change by: 1. Creating a safe space club 2. Teaching the mothers how to be effective parents 3. Training them to raise chickens for livelihood and formulating chicken feed. Road runner chickens have 3 advantages i.e meat, eggs and selling of day old chicks.
